We are a group of not for profit organisations, churches and individuals who want to call for humane policies for people seeking asylum and refugees in Western Australia.
We stand for justice, freedom and safety for refugees and people seeking asylum. We will not rest until freedom comes.
On Sunday 5th of April, Perth will gather to demonstrate a broad and united movement of people and organisations who call for justice and dignity for refugees and people seeking asylum. The theme for this year’s march is “For a Just Future:”
A JUST future is one where all people have equal opportunity to belong and to thrive.
We call for:
An end to the limbo of temporary visas
Permanent protection and fair processing
Family reunion
An end to offshore processing and mandatory detention
In calling for a just future, we stand in solidarity with First Nations Peoples fighting for justice on their own Lands, and with calls for climate justice.
We acknowledge that this event will be held on the lands of the Whadjuk people of the Nyungar Nation, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
This always was, always will be Nyungar land.
Due to medical advice and general restrictions on large gatherings of people, this year’s event will be hosted online at bit.ly/PalmSundayPerth2020
Speaker information to be updated closer to the event
